Challenge: Weekly Clean-Outs

January 29, 2020

We are there. That post-celebrating-back-into-life winter slump. New years resolutions are starting to slip and the buzz of the new year is fading into the background. But, there is a way to fight this dreaded time! In this four-week challenge, we are going to do some clean-outs that will set you up for success for the rest of 2020!

Below you will find a calendar with a weekly clean-out schedule. This is to help get you centered, motivated and to get you ready for spring cleaning while decluttering your life and helping you reset. I recommend following the calendar, not skipping ahead and checking off each day as you go. There’s nothing quite like physically checking things off of your to-do list!

Week One: The Cabinet Clean-Out

We are all guilty of shoving the Tupperware into cabinet, not taking the time to actually stack it properly and then next thing you know, you’re afraid to open that cabinet for fear of everything falling out. It happens. But this is the time to reset. Week one I start with the cabinets – kitchen + bathroom. You will do one cabinet at a time and on the calendar, you’ll see it is broken down into specifics as to which one to tackle. This way you don’t have to feel overwhelmed with getting everything done at once.

Pro Tip: Print out the schedule and hang it on the fridge. Grab a marker and cross those days off as you accomplish tasks.

Week Two: The Technology Clean-Out

We spend so much time using technology that our digital spaces can get messy too (I currently have three browsers with at least 12 tabs open on each at the moment). So this week is all about getting your digital space clean and organized. From your inbox to your social media feed, this week is the hardest. But trust me, it’s worth it. Release anything that is not longer serving you, clean out space and get ready to feel lighter.

Week Three: The Random Spaces Clean-Out

When was the last time you cleaned out your freezer? Ugh… I’m not going to answer that because it’s been far too long. That is why it is on this calendar this week. It’s all about the little things that you might overlook, but aren’t part of a full-on spring clean (don’t worry, I will be sharing my spring cleaning routine with you soon). This clean-out is all about giving some love to space that are sometimes overlooked.

Week Four: The Mindset Clean-Out

You made it to the final week! Yay!! This clean-out is my favorite: The Mindset Clean-Out. This week is all about releasing negativity, spreading good vibes and cleaning out your mindset to help you get back to a state of love. I use the practices on the calendar almost every day but broke them down for you into little actionable items, so it’s not too overwhelming. Try them, and then take what you love, what makes you feel good, and keep using them to raise your vibration daily and to hopefully live a happier life. Gratitude is everything!

You made it to the end! Good job!!! That was a doozy, but don’t you feel so good?! I love using this time to reset and get rid of things that I don’t need to make more space and time for the things I want to welcome into my life. Share your journey with me on Instagram- @Sabrina_Soto – and use #SSCleanOut! I can’t wait to see you crush this challenge!

Friday has never felt so sweet! 🍬 Sharing one Friday has never felt so sweet! 🍬

Sharing one of my favorite recipes, these spring treats are super easy and (*bonus*) don’t involve any baking!

You can whip these out last minute and customize them for any holiday or celebration. It is also a really fun afternoon activity for the littles- they are meant to look a little messy and full of color so the kids can help you decorate once the rice Krispies are cooled.

Olivia and I used some of our favorite chocolate candy to decorate- I cant wait to see how you decorate yours!

Do you redecorate at all when the seasons change?
Happy Easter from #theSOTOhouse! 🐣🐰 This ye Happy Easter from #theSOTOhouse! 🐣🐰

This year is a bit different for us. I am on the road and traveling for work, so we decided to celebrate earlier this week.

I love being a Mom more than anything in the world and I also love what I do. Here’s your reminder that you can do both and thrive. Sometimes... as a working parent, you need to be flexible. Just remember, it’s ok. 💛

The best Easter is one spent with your Peeps. 🐰 The best Easter is one spent with your Peeps. 🐰

Easter is less than a week away so, of course, I put together the jelly bean & peep floral centerpiece that I make almost every year. I make it every Easter and you may have already seen it on Pinterest, but the reason it’s my go-to craft is because it’s so easy.

I made this in minutes and bought the peeps and jellybeans at the dollar store, so it didn’t take much $$, either.

If you’re hosting or attending a socially-distanced Easter Brunch, this is a super cute way to celebrate or you can bring it as a host(ess) gift. OR if you’re missing out on celebrating with family this year, drop this at their doorstep for the sweetest surprise. 💛

Step by step instructions are live on the blog — head over to my stories and link in my bio!

This gloomy weather has me dreaming 💭 of spring This gloomy weather has me dreaming 💭 of spring, so I’m doing a roundup of my favorite planters!

You can refresh your living space or workspace any time of the year and benefit from adding a lush, thriving green plant and colorful ceramic or stoneware pot to your environment.

Here are some tips for decorating with planters:

1. Mix interesting or engaging containers with living plants to add a focal point. Using different sized pots and complementary colors, group three plants together. Try to make one of the three larger to break up the visual look. Everything is better in groups of three.

2. Play with heights — use hanging planters, plant stands, different size pots, etc. Create a focal point, and use the other pieces to compliment it.

3. Choose planters that bring you JOY! That’s a given, no explanation necessary. 🥰

How adorable are these? 🪴 Which one is your favorite? Linking them all in my bio to shop! http://liketk.it/3bn1D #liketkit @liketoknow.it #LTKhome #StayHomeWithLTK #LTKstyletip
