Spring has *almost* sprung! I love this time of year – the feeling of new beginnings and there is something so inspiring about coming out of cold, dark Winter into longer, warmer days. Another thing I love? Spring fashion! We can finally shed those heavy sweaters, boots, and thick coats and break out the brighter colors, floral patterns and lighter clothing. So with the official first day of Spring about a month away, I am rounding up some of my favorite Spring trends and sharing with you how I am incorporating them into my wardrobe for this upcoming season!
Striped Knits
Stripes are having a MOMENT in Spring fashion! While we are seeing the trend of Striped Knit Dresses emerging, I am incorporating more striped knits into my everyday wardrobe. From mock-necks to midi-dresses, I am loving multi-colored stripes and am excited that horizontal stripes are getting their time in the spotlight! I am paring my stripes with denim and simple shoes (plain sneakers or plain booties).
Bright, Fun, Kicks
Up until a few years ago, I exclusively wore heels. Now, I live for a good sneaker! Another trend I am loving this Spring is bright, fun kicks! The sneaker trend has been gaining popularity over the last few seasons, but now we are starting to see the emergence of more intricate and feminine kicks. I love pairing mine with almost any look from casual jeans-and-a-t-shirt to a floral midi dress.
Florals
Florals will always be a staple for Spring (who remembers that “Devil Wears Prada” quote?), but this season we are seeing bolder prints, mixed patterns and a variety of textures. We are also seeing brighter colors, instead of the usual pastels. I love pairing my floral print dress with a denim jacket and white sneakers for an breezy spring look. Pair with an oversized tote and you’ve got a look that works from everything from a lunch meeting to a trip to the Farmer’s Market!
Makeup Trends For Spring
The “Wet-Lip” Look – I love this. I am really embracing the wet-lip look after season of matte lipstick and I love that a simple gloss can elevate my look so easily.
The “No Make Makeup” Look – This is a trend that I love because being a single mom I don’t have a ton of time to get ready in the morning (I recently talked about this on an episode of the podcast). I love that *natural* is back in style for this season. I am sticking to my usual foundation-and-blush routine, but I am softening the eyes and loosing the liner for Spring.
